Privacy Policy

Chat Story Studio ("the app") is published by Hugo Software. This policy explains, in plain terms, what the app does and does not do with data.
Short version
We do not collect your personal data. The app has no accounts, no login, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no crash-reporting SDK. Everything you create stays on your device.
What is stored, and where
Everything you create in the app — projects, contact names, message text, avatars, colours, wallpapers, theme choices and settings — is written to local storage inside the app on your device. It is never uploaded to us and we cannot read it.
This data is removed when you clear the app's storage from Android Settings, or when you uninstall the app.
Exported images
Images you export are generated entirely on your device and saved through Android's own download mechanism. They are never sent to us or to any third party.
Network use
The app requests the INTERNET permission for exactly two purposes:
- Google Play Billing. If you subscribe, the purchase and its verification are handled by Google Play. We never see or receive your payment card, billing address or Google account details. The app only reads the subscription state that Google Play reports on the device.
- Remote configuration. The app makes an anonymous HTTPS request to our configuration endpoint to read display settings such as the fallback price shown before Google Play returns a localised price. This request carries no identifiers about you or your device.
The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, location or files.
Subscriptions
Chat Story Studio offers one optional auto-renewing subscription, billed weekly through Google Play. It removes the export watermark and unlocks HD export, the premium templates, wallpapers and bubble colours. Purchases, renewals, refunds and cancellations are managed by Google Play, under Google's own terms and privacy policy. You can cancel at any time in Google Play → Subscriptions.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share data with third parties. The only third party involved at all is Google, acting as the payment processor for the subscription.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Your rights
Because no personal data ever leaves your device, there is nothing for us to hold, export or erase on your behalf. You are in full control: clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes everything. If you have a question or a request anyway, write to us and we will respond.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
