These terms govern your use of Chat Story Studio ("the app"), published by Hugo Software. By installing or using the app you agree to them.
What the app is
Chat Story Studio is a creative mockup tool. It lets you design fictional messaging scenes and export them as images, for film and video production, social content, education, comedy, design mockups and presentations.
The bubble styles in the app are our own original designs. They are deliberately familiar in spirit but are not copies of, and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to, any real messaging service or its owner. All third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Acceptable use — read this part
The content you produce with this app is fictional. You agree that you will not use the app, or anything exported from it, to:
- impersonate a real person, company or public authority;
- defraud, deceive, blackmail, harass, defame or threaten anyone;
- fabricate evidence, or present exported images as genuine communications in any legal, financial, employment, journalistic or official context;
- create sexual content involving minors, or content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction.
You are solely responsible for what you create and for how you use it. Where an exported image could be mistaken for a real conversation, you are responsible for making its fictional nature clear to your audience.
We may stop providing the app, or a feature of it, to anyone who uses it in breach of these terms.
Your content
Your projects and exported images are yours. We do not receive them, claim any rights over them or use them for any purpose.
Subscription
The app contains no advertising. It offers one optional auto-renewing subscription, billed weekly through Google Play, which removes the export watermark and unlocks HD export, the premium templates, wallpapers and bubble colours.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- You can manage or cancel it at any time in Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period runs to its end.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google's refund policy.
Without a subscription the app remains fully usable: exports simply include a small watermark and are capped at standard resolution.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, or for any use you make of the images you export.
Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is always published on this page.
